Windows Health Clinic
Innovative Mental Health Care for Sonoma County and Beyond

Individual
Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy aims to equip us with tools for the difficulties of life.  Anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, identity issues, and evidence of abuse may place demands on our ability to cope, and a trained professional is here to help.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

We believe in the power of combining psychotherapy with proven medication, when indicated to further unlock potential health gains. For those who choose and are deemed appropriate, we will safely incorporate a dissociative anesthetic, such as ketamine into therapy.

Couples
Therapy

Couples therapy can create lasting positive change for couples encountering communication or intimacy roadblocks.  It helps to identify patterns, triggers, and blindspots, and then provides approaches to help you feel understood and respected.

Individual Psychotherapy

We believe it is important to feel secure connection with others.  Individual psychotherapy facilitates a corrective experience in which you feel emotionally safe and securely bonded.  Our therapists focus on the present process unfolding in each session, attuning to you with empathy and responsiveness.  We help you to see your strengths, make you feel heard and validated, and assist in reconciling your feelings, so that you can develop a more positive, coherent, and meaningful narrative about yourself and life.  We are wired for emotional connection and even our most seemingly destructive or negative behaviors are an attempt to feel loved, safe, connected, and like we belong.  Everyone’s behavior makes sense when we take the time to acknowledge the adaptive reasons they developed in the first place.  By better understanding patterns, habits, fears, longings, vulnerabilities, and ways of processing, you can be empowered with more choice in how you relate to yourself and others.  Individual psychotherapy is a journey toward feeling more balanced emotionally, more mentally open, more flexible in how you respond to the challenges of life, and more deeply engaged and available to learn and grow.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Studies show that ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is effective in treating emotional diagnoses, such as anxiety and depression.  Compelling, peer-reviewed literature accumulates on ketamine's effectiveness and lower risk profiles than many other medications (example article).  With decades of safe use, we embrace the potential for KAP to benefit those with a wide variety of diagnoses, especially for treatment-resistant cases.  We are proud to be on the cutting edge of mental health practice, offering Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy by double board-certified anesthesiologist and critical care physician Nate Lowry, MD and session support and integration therapy by licensed psychotherapist Wes Hamper, LMFT.

Couples Therapy

A healthy relationship can be a powerful contributor to happiness in our lives.  Couples therapy supports the pursuit of functional, satisfying relationships and investigates the causes of partners’ problems so that it can address detrimental patterns in their dynamic.  Often there are conflicting points of view to navigate, distress to alleviate, dilemmas to resolve, awareness to build, skills to acquire, damage to repair, and compassion to renew.  Individuals may learn how to better manage their own reactions and feelings, and by better understanding themselves, they can more effectively communicate what they need and want, and better support each other.

CranioSacral Somatic Therapy

CranioSacral improves your body’s ability to take better care of you.  It has been shown to help people with a full spectrum of pain and dysfunction. CranioSacral is a light touch approach that can create dramatic improvements in your life. It releases tension deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction, and improve whole body health and performance. Few body structures have more influence over your health and well being than your central nervous system. And few body systems have more impact on your central nervous system than the CranioSacral system. The soft tissues and fluids that protect your brain and spinal cord. When you endure stresses and strains, your body absorbs them. But your body can only handle so much tension before the tissues begin to tighten, and potentially affect the brain and spinal cord. Unfortunately, this can compromise the function of the central nervous system and nearly every other system in your body. Craniosacral therapy releases those tensions to allow the entire body to relax and self correct. Using gentle touch, starting with about the weight of a nickel, the client is evalated for strain patterns. Then distinctive light touch techniques are used to release any restrictions found. By freeing the central nervous system to perform at its best, CST has shown to naturally reduce pain and stress, strengthen your resistance to disease, support a regulated nervous system, and enhance your health and well being.
